Welcome to my webpage and thank you for visiting! I’ve been putting words on the page in one form or another since I learned the alphabet. Like any good writer, I’m also an avid reader, and have always been drawn to historical fiction for the way it draws me into times and places that existed once upon a time. As a child, I became engrossed in biographies of people who came before us, as a source of inspiration.
The books I like best harmonize concrete information from the historical record, with a healthy dose of invention to fill in the details. I feel privileged to be able to devote time and energy to researching those who came before us in hopes of capturing the global human experience, and connect us all together. Come along with me on this journey of exploration.
With my latest novel Comfort’s Rebellion, I hope to bring to the forefront the realization that human experiences has always occurred along a continuum. Jemima Wilkinson captured my imagination for the audacity and courage they demonstrated when, as a relatively young person, they threw off the trappings of a life that was unsatisfactory and took up the mantle of the Public Universal Friend.
